Dear trauma friend,

I’m very proud to welcome you to our new website. Since 1990, The Belgian Orthopedic Trauma Association is dedicated to the promotion of trauma and fractures care in the country. This is the place for those who like to learn and teach about the management of Musculo-skeletal injuries.

This new website intends to provide easier access to our actualities and documentation.

Here, you will find the news from our association but also from the other trauma societies that we are part of.  

Like every year many of us attend the European Congress of Trauma and Emergency Surgery. We will have a nice evening in Aachen with our Hollands colleagues. I hope that we can meet and cheers there.

On Thursday 24th  April, we have a high-quality session about geriatric pelvis and acetabulum at the Orhopedica Belgica Congress in Brussel. Our guest from Lausanne, Dr Daniel Wagner will share his experience in management of fragility fracture of the pelvis. As he developed the classification in the team of Pr Rommens in Mainz, I’m sure we will learn a lot from him.

I would also like to invite you to our Annual Symposium on the 29th November. The subject this year is “Severe Trauma to the Limb from the battlefield to downtown crossroad”. We are elaborating a program with military medicine colleague (Belgium, France, Eastern Europe Countries), bone reconstruction specialists, rehabilitation therapists and the point of view of the insurance/lawyer/politics.

In between, there will be several opportunities to meet and discuss trauma cases during the different casuistic meeting.

Apart from all these occasions to meet and learn, the BOTA is also a community in Belgium where help will be given to those who ask for it. Never hesitate to contact us for some advice any time you are in trouble. Some fellowship opportunities will be available in the future months.

A community is nothing without the members, so WE NEED YOU to grow up the expertise in Orthopedic Trauma Care in Belgium.
